The Slumbering Tombs of Arkabad and the Death of Dreams

The slumbering tombs of Arkabad and the death of dreams.

The Slumbering Tombs of Arkabad and the Death of Dreams (or in short: Arkabad) is a free dungeon adventure module intended for use with old-school renaissance (OSR) roleplaying games and older versions of D&D.

In the slumbering tombs of Arkabad the player characters follow in the footsteps of a previous raiding party who met a horrifying end in the depths of the dungeon. They will meet the fiendish Scarbarrow family imprisoned in Arkabad, and experience the sorcerous dreams (and nightmares) of the Neversleeping Lady.

The module is horror-themed and focuses on exploration.

Version alpha

This is the first public version of Arkabad. It is unpolished and rough around the edges. The reason for me releasing the adventure in this state is to gather feedback. My intention is to polish it further into a beta version before finalising Arkabad in a printed version. My ambition for each version of Arkabad is to improve language, layout and information architecture as well as adding more illustrations.

Please feel free to e-mail me any comments you might have on the content of Arkabad. Since I’m not a native English speaker any corrections to language and grammar is especially appreciated. My e-mail address is niklas@wistedt.net.

This version of Arkabad is 100% free for personal use and should be considered “shareware”. You may share it in any channel you want, although you may not sell it. You may not use the content of this document for other assets or publications without my written approval.
